- An investigation has been launched into the faith healer's treatment.
Tragedy struck a family in Ramgarh on Thursday when two minor brothers, aged 10 and 15, died after reportedly receiving treatment from a local faith healer. The family had been seeking care from an Ojha-Guni for a persistent fever affecting the two boys and their mother for three days. Instead of approaching a hospital, they relied on traditional healing methods.
Officials confirmed that the brothers' health rapidly declined during the faith healer's intervention. Upon arrival at Ramgarh Sadar Hospital, they were pronounced dead. Their mother, whose condition is described as critical, has been transferred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) in Ranchi for specialized treatment. An investigation has been initiated by police and administrative officials.
Ramgarh Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar stated that a medical team will visit the village to ascertain the illness. While the exact cause of death is under examination, the decision to forgo hospital care in favor of a faith healer is a central focus of the ongoing inquiry.
