As of November 15th, 2025, vaping has become a widespread addiction in Britain, with roughly 1 in 10 adults estimated to be hooked on the nicotine-infused flavored mist. While vaping is still considered a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, experts have warned of the potential health dangers from the chemicals, solvents, and flavorings used in e-cigarettes.
Dr. Marc Picot, a recovering vape addict and GP, knows firsthand the challenges of quitting vaping. He explains that the physical habit of raising one's hand to the mouth can be just as difficult to break as the chemical addiction to nicotine. The repeated motion of "lifting the device to your lips, breathing in and breathing out" creates a strong pattern that the brain associates with pleasure and stress relief.
