Em Rusciano Hospitalized With Rare Muscle Condition

Former radio personality Em Rusciano has been admitted to the hospital after developing a rare and potentially life-threatening condition known as rhabdomyolysis. The 47-year-old shared on social media that the ailment resulted from excessive muscle damage, specifically from performing pull-ups during a gym session. This muscle breakdown caused her biceps to swell and her cells to leak into her bloodstream, putting her kidneys under significant pressure.

Doctors are actively treating Rusciano with aggressive IV fluids to flush her system and are closely monitoring her kidney function. She noted that her creatinine levels were exceptionally high, far exceeding the normal range. Rusciano mentioned that her unusual case has made her a subject of interest among the medical staff, who reportedly have not encountered such a situation in someone like her before. She humorously described herself as a 'new zoo exhibit.'

Separately, Rusciano recently confirmed her separation from husband Scott Barrow, attributing the change to her personal growth following ADHD and autism diagnoses. They are co-parenting their youngest child, Elio, and aim to maintain a supportive family dynamic. Despite the health scare and personal changes, Rusciano expressed optimism about navigating these challenges.
