A 19-year-old Ugandan tourist arriving in Jaipur from Sharjah has been isolated at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) Hospital due to symptoms resembling Ebola. Samples have been sent for testing to a specialized laboratory in Pune.
Authorities have stressed that the infection is unconfirmed. Precautionary measures, including enhanced surveillance and contact tracing, have been initiated. All government and private hospitals across Rajasthan are now on high alert.
RUHS Hospital has been designated as the state's dedicated facility for suspected Ebola cases, equipped with isolation wards and trained personnel. The Union Ministry of Health had previously advised against non-essential travel to Ebola-affected countries.
