This accolade acknowledges her substantial contributions, including groundbreaking research and exemplary mentorship within the field of pediatric surgery.
Dr. Menon's oration focused on pelvic ureteric junction obstruction, a common urological issue in children. She detailed novel imaging techniques developed from her extensive experience at PGIMER, which allow for precise preoperative diagnosis. These advancements are crucial for preventing intraoperative injuries to aberrant renal vessels and minimizing renal tissue loss due to ischemia, significantly improving surgical outcomes.
With over 205 publications and having guided more than 100 trainees, Dr. Menon's impact extends broadly. Her expertise also encompasses pediatric laparoscopic and robotic surgery, highlighting her continuous dedication to advancing pediatric surgical care.
