Contaminated Flour Hospitalizes Dozens

In recent incidents across Uttar Pradesh, dozens of individuals have fallen ill after consuming buckwheat flour. In Baghpat, nine people, including judicial officials, were affected, prompting an investigation into food quality during the festive season. Health and food safety departments are working to trace the source of the suspected contaminated flour.
Bijnor district reported over 30 cases, with villagers from several areas experiencing severe symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. Families in Sikrauda, Lahak Kala, and Mohanpur villages reported widespread illness after meals prepared with the flour. Victims stated the flour was purchased from local grocery shops in Najibabad.
Similarly, in Bulandshahr, more than three dozen people were hospitalized after consuming buckwheat flour, reportedly bought from various locations. These individuals, who were fasting for Navratri and consuming buckwheat-based meals, are now in good health with gradual improvement. Samples have been collected for testing, and authorities have vowed strict action against those found responsible for distributing contaminated products.
