Summary
- A 28-year-old doctor died, suspected suicide by sleeping pills.
- She had a history of a prior suicide attempt.
- A committee is investigating the incident within a week.

A junior resident doctor, aged 28 and originally from Lucknow, has died under suspicious circumstances at the institute where she was pursuing her MD. She was discovered unresponsive in her room and was pronounced dead at SN Medical College and Hospital. Initial findings suggest that she may have consumed an excessive amount of sleeping pills.
This is not the first time the doctor has faced such a crisis, as reports indicate she had previously attempted suicide. Her family members have been notified and have arrived at the location. However, as of Monday afternoon, they had not lodged any formal complaint regarding the incident. The institute has established a three-member committee to thoroughly probe the circumstances surrounding her death and is required to present its report within one week.
Previously, the junior resident had reportedly filed a complaint alleging misbehavior by a senior colleague. A committee formed by the institute at that time had investigated these allegations but concluded they were not substantiated.
