A 4-year-old girl is recovering after a Holbrook dispatcher's swift guidance saved her life on Monday evening. The incident occurred at a West Street home in East Bridgewater when the child suddenly stopped breathing. Her parents immediately called 911.
Dispatcher Sophia Zervos, working at the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center, calmly talked the parents through the critical steps of CPR. She instructed them on chest compressions, counting with them as they performed the life-saving procedure.
Remarkably, after approximately two rounds of compressions, the parents reported that their daughter began to breathe again and recovered. East Bridgewater police confirmed the child is doing much better, with the family expressing gratitude for the dispatcher's intervention.
