Dietary Shift Adds Years to Life
18 Jul
Summary
- Dietary changes may add up to 10 years to life expectancy.
- Four weeks on specific diets reduced biological age in seniors.
- Carb-rich, lower-fat diets showed the strongest positive effects.

Research suggests that dietary modifications could extend human lifespan by as much as a decade. A recent study focused on older adults, aged 65 to 75, revealed that altering their diets for just four weeks led to a decrease in biological age. Biological age, which reflects cellular health, was measured against chronological age.
Participants were assigned to one of four diets. While a high-fat diet showed no impact on biological age, the other three diets resulted in positive changes. The most significant improvements were observed in participants following a diet rich in carbohydrates and lower in fats, indicating a potential pathway to cellular rejuvenation later in life.
