Diabetes Patients Demand Predictive Health Tools
6 Mar
Summary
- Over half of diabetes patients struggle with daily activities due to their condition.
- Eight in 10 patients desire predictive tools to manage glucose levels proactively.
- Roche will present comparative real-world evidence in March 2026.

A global survey of over 4,300 diabetes patients across 22 countries, conducted by Roche, has highlighted a significant demand for predictive technology in managing the condition. The findings indicate that living with diabetes frequently disrupts daily life, affecting participation in sports, household chores, and sleep quality for more than half of the respondents.
Eight in 10 patients expressed a strong interest in predictive tools that could anticipate glucose fluctuations, with 46% stating such technology would increase their sense of control. Roche emphasizes that these insights underscore the need for advanced diabetes management solutions that offer proactive insights, moving beyond current glucose level reporting to provide greater flexibility, freedom, and peace of mind.
Roche plans to share comprehensive survey results and new real-world evidence. This evidence will compare predictive technology against standard continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems. The presentation is scheduled for the 19th International Conference on Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD) in Barcelona on March 11, 2026.
This initiative by Roche comes as global diabetes prevalence is projected to rise significantly. By 2050, it is expected to increase by 46%, affecting one in eight adults worldwide, approximately 853 million people. The CGM market is also experiencing substantial growth, indicating a broad trend towards advanced monitoring solutions.
