26 Oct
Summary
- Special medical camps screened 726 people for fever and ailments.
- Mobile clinics reached areas with high fever complaints.
- Residents advised to maintain dry surroundings to prevent mosquito breeding.

Special medical camps were conducted at 16 locations across the city on Monday to screen the public for fever and other ailments. The health wing of the Corporation, in collaboration with doctors from the Directorate of Public Health, organized these camps through Urban Primary Health Centres. This initiative aims to contain the rising dengue cases following the onset of the Northeast monsoon.
A total of 726 people benefited from the camps, which were held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in areas including Kannanendal, Reserve Line, Thiruparankundram, Teppakulam, Ellis Nagar, P and T Nagar, South Veli Street, and Villapuram. Additionally, mobile clinics operated between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in neighborhoods experiencing a high number of fever complaints.
Health officials stressed the importance of maintaining dry and clean surroundings, as stagnant fresh water facilitates mosquito breeding. They also advised family members, particularly children and the elderly, to be cautious during the rainy season by avoiding cold items and consuming boiled water to minimize infection risks. Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar inspected some camps and requested public cooperation in the fight against dengue.
