Delhi Boosts Primary Care: 70 New Clinics Open This Month

The national capital is undergoing a significant healthcare expansion with the planned rollout of 1139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The government intends for these new clinics to serve as the cornerstone of community healthcare, ensuring no citizen is deprived of essential medical services due to distance or cost.

Seventy new clinics are slated for inauguration this month across various city locations, with an additional 187 expected to become operational by December 31. Unlike previous models, these Mandirs will boast modern technology and a broader spectrum of services, including outpatient consultations, free medications, diagnostic tests, and care for maternal, child, and elderly health.

This aggressive expansion signifies a commitment to scaling up quality primary healthcare directly within neighborhoods. By early next year, all promised Mandirs are anticipated to be functional, dramatically increasing access to primary medical care for millions of Delhi residents and establishing them as the initial healthcare touchpoint.
