- The program aims to raise awareness and improve early diagnosis of common cancers.

To mark World Cancer Day, the Delhi government has initiated a comprehensive cancer awareness, prevention, and screening program aimed at early detection and control of the disease. This initiative includes the deployment of mobile screening vans that are equipped with advanced facilities such as mammography and HPV DNA testing. These vans will visit both prominent and remote areas across the capital to make screening accessible to citizens without disrupting their daily lives.
Complementing the mobile units, a new self-testing kit for cervical cancer has been introduced. This kit allows women to conveniently collect vaginal swab samples for HPV DNA testing. Reports are expected within a week, followed by necessary medical consultations and treatments. The program also focuses on cancer education, promoting anti-tobacco awareness, and facilitating cervical cancer vaccination to mitigate future risks, thereby strengthening the city's fight against cancer.
