Summary
- New SOTTO headquarters launched at G.B. Pant Hospital.
- ANMOL scheme expands newborn screening for 63 congenital diseases.
- ASHA worker monthly incentives doubled to ₹6,000.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu virtually inaugurated several significant healthcare initiatives on Tuesday. These launches, part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,' include the operational headquarters of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) at G.B. Pant Hospital.
The SOTTO headquarters, a physical and institutional tracking hub, was inaugurated following the online organ donation pledge portal's activation on September 17. Chief Minister Gupta registered as the first organ donor on the SOTTO portal, emphasizing organ donation as an act of humanity.
Further strengthening Delhi's healthcare system, the 'Mission ANMOL' scheme is expanding its scope. This initiative focuses on comprehensive health check-ups and screening for newborns, now covering 63 congenital diseases. The government aims to increase annual screening from 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakh newborns.
In recognition of their dedication, the monthly incentive for Delhi's 6,690 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers has been doubled from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000. This move is intended to bolster door-to-door health services. A new Nursing Home Management System portal was also launched to streamline processes, making them more transparent and accountable.
