27 Feb
Summary
- Delhi food safety teams collected 66 samples pre-Holi.
- Paneer, mawa, and edible oils are under strict scrutiny.
- Border checks are intensified to block adulterated festive foods.

Delhi's food safety teams are conducting a rigorous enforcement drive ahead of Holi, collecting 66 food samples across the city. This initiative aims to prevent adulterated sweets and food items from reaching consumers during the peak festive demand for products like paneer and mawa. Officials are paying close attention to high-demand festive staples including dairy products, prepared foods, spices, pulses, grains, and edible oils.
The inspections cover wholesale and retail markets, roadside stalls, and even production units within residential areas. Surveillance has also been enhanced at Delhi's border entry points to intercept dairy products from neighboring states. Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh has stated a zero-tolerance policy, ensuring no adulterated sweets will be permitted for sale.
