Safe Disposal: DEA Collects Unused Prescriptions

On Saturday, numerous pharmacies and law enforcement locations across the area saw a strong turnout for the DEA's Drug Take Back Day. This nationwide program offered a safe and convenient method for the public to dispose of expired prescription medications, including tablets and capsules.
Locally, the Ohio County Sheriff's Office collaborated with Youth Services System and the Wheeling YWCA for a dedicated take-back event held at Elm Grove Pharmacy. Officials stated that any prescriptions, regardless of type, were accepted for proper disposal.
This event is one of two such national initiatives held annually, with the subsequent Drug Take Back Day anticipated in mid-October.
