Coconut Yogurt Recalled: Undeclared Almonds Cause Allergy Alert
21 Dec
Summary
- Undeclared almond content led to voluntary recall of strawberry-flavored coconut yogurt.
- Consumers with almond allergies risk severe reactions from the mislabeled product.
- This is the second allergen recall for H-E-B within the last month.

PlantBased Innovations issued a voluntary recall for its Higher Harvest by H-E-B Dairy-Free Coconut Yogurt, specifically the strawberry flavor, because it contained undeclared almonds. This action was prompted by a customer report indicating that a product with almonds was distributed in packaging that failed to list the allergen.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cautioned that individuals with almond allergies face a risk of serious or life-threatening reactions, including anaphylaxis. This recall follows a previous incident on December 11, where H-E-B recalled a lentil dal soup due to undeclared milk.
The affected yogurt, packaged in 5.3-ounce cups with a Best By date of January 2, 2026, was distributed to H-E-B stores across Texas after shipping on November 24. No illnesses have been reported, and consumers are advised to return the product for a refund or dispose of it.
