In honor of a courageous young WWE fan, Connor Michalek, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon established Connor's Cure in April 2014. This fund has since become a beacon of hope, raising over $4.6 million and providing support to more than 500 families worldwide dealing with pediatric cancer.
The initiative's success is amplified by strategic collaborations with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and The V Foundation for Cancer Research. These partnerships enable critical funding for advanced research into aggressive childhood cancers like DIPG and various solid tumors.
Connor Michalek, a Pittsburgh native diagnosed with medulloblastoma at age three, inspired the WWE community with his resilience. His wish to meet his hero, Daniel Bryan, went viral, leading to multiple meetings and a special appearance at WrestleMania XXX before his passing in April 2014 at age eight.
These combined efforts continue to drive significant breakthroughs. The V Foundation, a highly-rated charity, recently announced $16.2 million in funding, with WWE and Dick Vitale contributing $900,000 towards pediatric cancer research grants, including those focused on DIPG and solid tumors.
