13 Dec
Summary
- Polyclinics will be launched at 14 urban primary health centres.
- Specialist doctors will be available at these centers twice weekly.
- Expanded facilities will include obstetrics, gynecology, ENT, and surgery.

The city health administration is launching a significant healthcare expansion by establishing polyclinics at 14 urban primary health centers (UPHCs). This initiative will bring specialist doctors to these facilities twice a week, enhancing access to crucial medical services for urban populations.
Identified UPHCs across various locations will undergo preparation for these polyclinics. The expanded centers will dedicate an additional 600 square feet to accommodate specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, ENT, and surgery. These services will function exclusively as outpatient departments, ensuring efficient care without overnight admissions.
This development is part of a broader effort to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure. With the state capital already operating numerous UPHCs, PHCs, and CHCs, the introduction of polyclinics signifies a commitment to more accessible and specialized medical attention for vulnerable urban communities.
