Researchers at Khon Kaen University are exploring the potential of cannabis derivatives, including CBD and THC, to combat ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer remains a leading cause of cancer death among women, often characterized by late diagnosis and limited treatment choices.

The preliminary research, conducted by Dr. Siyao Tong's team, focuses on the anti-cancer activity of CBD and THC. While these initial findings are promising, the study acknowledges its limitations, as all experiments have so far been conducted in vitro, meaning they do not fully represent the complexity of tumor behavior in living organisms.

Further in-vivo model experiments and pharmacokinetic data are essential to determine the clinical safety and efficacy of CBD-THC combination therapy.
