Summary
- 500 premium human hair wigs valued at ₹1.5 crore donated.
- Partnership aims to boost confidence and emotional well-being.
- 1,000 wigs to be donated annually by the foundation.

Tata Memorial Centre and The Cherian Foundation have launched a significant collaboration to enhance access to natural human hair wigs for cancer patients in India facing financial hardship. This partnership, formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding, designates Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai as the central hub for managing and distributing these wigs throughout the Tata Memorial Centre network.
The Cherian Foundation is generously donating 500 premium human hair wigs, a contribution valued at ₹1.5 crore, through its "Gift Hair Gift Confidence" initiative. These wigs have been specifically prepared and allocated to meet the needs of patients at each participating center. The foundation has pledged to continue this support by manufacturing and donating an additional 1,000 premium wigs each year.
These annually donated wigs will be distributed across the foundation's network of partner hospitals, which includes the Tata Memorial Centre. Recognizing that hair loss is a distressing side effect of cancer treatment and that natural wigs are often unaffordable, this collaboration seeks to significantly improve the emotional well-being and confidence of patients undergoing treatment.
