Charlie Livingstone-Wyre, a 21-year-old student from Loughborough University, is set to participate in the London Marathon. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in spring 2025, a cancer affecting the lymphatic system. Livingstone-Wyre decided to join the marathon while undergoing his treatment, inspired by the support he received.
His chemotherapy involved six rounds, during which he experienced severe sickness. He found strength by focusing on his recovery. The Teenage Cancer Trust provided significant support to him and his family, even funding a recreation room on his ward. Livingstone-Wyre is now back at university to complete his degree.
He has raised nearly £3,500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Livingstone-Wyre received the all-clear in September and is awaiting final confirmation via biopsy. He is actively working on regaining his fitness to achieve his marathon goal, viewing crossing the finish line as a potential moment of emotional reflection.
