This hereditary risk runs in Bec's family; her paternal grandmother died from breast cancer in 1973, and her father is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. Her mother, Jill, also had breast cancer 15 years ago. Inspired by the advancements in treatment, Bec is participating in the OLIO clinical trial.
Bec is now the face of Breast Cancer Trials' Christmas Appeal, urging Australians to donate to fund crucial research. She hopes her involvement will lead to better treatments and cures, ultimately ensuring her daughters, Daphne and Dottie, and other future generations do not face the same devastating diagnosis.
