Boy's Egypt Holiday Becomes Nightmare Kidney Crisis
18 Mar
Summary
- Seven-year-old Finn contracted acute kidney failure after a holiday.
- Doctors diagnosed Finn with rare Haemolytic-Uraemic Syndrome (HUS).
- Family claims poor hygiene standards were observed at the resort.

A seven-year-old boy from Worcestershire, Finn Bradshaw, experienced a severe medical emergency during a family holiday in Hurghada, Egypt. What began as a stomach upset worsened during the flight home, leading to jaundice and acute kidney failure upon arrival in the UK.
Finn was diagnosed with Haemolytic-Uraemic Syndrome (HUS), a serious condition frequently associated with E. coli infections, which is a leading cause of kidney failure in children. He required emergency dialysis and an extended hospital stay, missing weeks of school.
The family, including parents Alexandra and Michael Bradshaw, who are both nurses, has instructed lawyers to investigate the contraction of Finn's E. coli infection. They reported observing poor hygiene standards at their 4.5-star resort, with food left uncovered and animals present.
The incident occurred during a week-long all-inclusive holiday that began on November 7, 2025, and concluded on November 14, 2025. Finn was admitted to the hospital on November 20, 2025, after his condition deteriorated.
