An 8-year-old boy from Texas has completed his cancer treatment with a heartwarming display of joy. Royce Dinkins left Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth after an extensive period of care, including months of chemotherapy and a six-week recovery following a bone marrow transplant.
His departure was a celebration, with doctors and nurses lining the halls to cheer him on. Royce marked the occasion with a spirited dance and an impressive cartwheel, all while listening to his favorite song. He then rang a bell, symbolizing the end of his treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, B-cell type.
Royce was diagnosed on July 31st, 2025, shortly after his family moved to Texas. His treatment involved chemotherapy, which led to hair loss and the need to relearn walking, and a bone marrow transplant from his father in February 2026. Due to his weakened immune system, he was unable to attend school with his peers. He is now recovering at home.
