Summary
- Medical board found negligence in Amritsar private hospital.
- Actor Varinder Singh Ghuman died after shoulder surgery.
- Report cited lack of transparency and protocol deviation.

A seven-member medical board has concluded that an Amritsar private hospital was negligent in the death of 41-year-old actor and bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman. Ghuman, known for his role in "Tiger 3" and as the world's first vegetarian professional bodybuilder, died last year on October 9 following a surgical procedure for a shoulder injury. He suffered a sudden cardiac arrest post-operation.
The board, comprising specialists in orthopaedics, medicine, cardiology, anesthesia, and forensics, submitted its report on February 26. The report detailed a lack of transparency, inadequate explanation of potential complications, and a deviation from established medical protocols during Ghuman's treatment.
These findings directly led to the conclusion of medical negligence and a violation of patient rights. The Commissioner of Police has received the report and assured that appropriate action will be taken following a thorough review. Ghuman had undergone arthroscopic surgery for a rotator cuff injury advised on October 6, 2025, with no known prior health issues.
