Summary
- Bialetti ground coffee tainted with dangerous mould toxin.
- Recall impacts specific 250g tins sold between July-Nov 2025.

High street giant TK Maxx has initiated an urgent product recall for a popular flavoured ground coffee due to the presence of a dangerous mould toxin. The affected product, Bialetti Perfetto Moka ground coffee, was sold across TK Maxx and Homesense stores in the UK and Ireland.
Food safety officials detected concerning levels of Ochratoxin A, a toxic byproduct of micro-fungi, during routine laboratory testing. The recall specifically targets 250g tins of the caramel-flavoured coffee with batch code LC5 BD149T and a best-before end date of May 29, 2027. These were primarily sold between July and November 2025.
Customers who purchased the contaminated coffee are strongly advised to cease use immediately and return the product to any TK Maxx or Homesense branch for a full refund or replacement, regardless of whether they have a receipt. For further assistance, consumers can contact Bialetti customer care or consult their GP or NHS 111 if they experience adverse symptoms.
