The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) at Banaras Hindu University is set to celebrate its 65th Annual Day on November 19, 2025. In the days leading up to the main ceremony, the institute will host a 2-day Health Mela on November 17 and 18 within its premises.
The Health Mela will feature leading experts from various medical disciplines, including Dr. Ankita Mishra Bundela, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Dr. Sanjay Rai, Coordinator at the Community Health Centre of AIIMS New Delhi. They will collaborate to convey knowledge about medical research, training, and nursing excellence to the general public.
Additionally, the event will honor 43 superannuating faculty and non-teaching staff members for their outstanding contributions and service to the Institute. The Institute has also organized an Annual Athletic Meet to encourage physical fitness and spread health awareness among the community.
The IMS Director, Prof. S.N. Sankhwar, stated that the Vice-Chancellor of BHU, Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, and other distinguished guests will attend the Annual Day ceremony. The Health Mela coordinator, Prof. V.N. Mishra, assured that all efforts are being made to provide easy and accessible information to the public about the facilities and activities.
