Ahead of the Holi festival, food safety authorities in Bhilwara district conducted a significant raid on Monday, seizing over 2,300 kilograms of red chilli powder and 1,710 kilograms of whole coriander spice. The operation took place at Star Light Agro Limited on Chittorgarh Road.
During the inspection, roughly 400 kilograms of dates were also destroyed on the spot due to quality issues. Samples of the confiscated spices have been dispatched to Ajmer for laboratory testing. The official confirmed that legal proceedings will commence once the test reports are available. The CMHO encouraged the public to examine food item quality and packaging, and to promptly report any suspected adulteration to the department via telephone.
