Actress Beverley Callard has candidly expressed her fears about post-surgery body image and her husband's attraction following treatment for breast cancer. The 68-year-old Coronation Street star revealed her diagnosis shortly after relocating to Dublin for a role in 'Fair City'.
Callard underwent surgery on Friday to remove two lymph nodes as a precautionary measure after her breast cancer was caught early. She has since returned home to Norfolk to recover, describing herself as 'really sore' and exhausted, with a lack of appetite.
Despite assuring fans she is recovering, Callard admitted she is 'scared' about her appearance under dressings and worried about remaining attractive to her husband, Jon McEwan. Friends, including Sinitta and her 'Fair City' co-star Emily Lamey, have offered significant support, reassuring her of her beauty and strength.
The actress previously shared her diagnosis on 'The Late Late Show,' revealing it occurred just before her first filming day for 'Fair City.' She emphasized that the cancer was in its early stages and planned to undergo further treatment, including radiotherapy, before returning to her acting role.
