Tiara Ramos and her best friend Anika Rashaun Walker Rehn, inseparable since eighth grade, faced a devastating blow in 2025 when diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks apart. Anika, who had stage 4 breast cancer, passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 34.
Tiara, 35, continues to battle stage 1 breast cancer and is honoring Anika's memory by sharing their story. The friends, who also bonded over Tiara's mother's earlier breast cancer death, launched a podcast, "Breast Friends Forever," to empower young women.
Anika, a former reality TV personality, was diagnosed after months of back pain, which an MRI revealed was stage 4 breast cancer that had spread. Despite her own diagnosis, Anika supported Tiara, who had long suspected her own risk due to family history.
Tiara is currently undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy and hormone therapy. She urges young women to understand their family history, risk factors, and to advocate for their health with healthcare providers.
