Women across Belagavi observed International Women's Day on Sunday with impactful initiatives. The Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Ladies Wing spearheaded a "Drive with Purpose" rally, an awareness campaign focused on cancer and thalassaemia. This event saw over 70 cars journeying through major city roads, commencing from the CPED ground and concluding at Gomatesh Vidyapeeth. During the rally, Dr. Abhinandan Hanji provided insights into cancer prevention.
In a demonstration of civic responsibility, the Shakti Sanghatana members undertook a cleanup of the Sadashivanagar graveyard. This effort underscored their commitment to community well-being and hygiene. Another group, the Basaveshwar Mahila Mandal of Vadagavi, celebrated the day through cultural programs, including the singing of Vachanas, adding a cultural dimension to the day's observances.
