- Integrated lab will significantly lower costs for patients.
- New facility expected to be ready by May 31, 2026.

In two months, the Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital in Bathinda will inaugurate an Integrated Public Health Laboratory (IPHL), consolidating approximately 150 diagnostic tests. This significant development, expected by May 31, 2026, aims to provide patients with convenient, faster, and more affordable access to a wide range of medical investigations.
The IPHL, established under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission with Punjab government support, will house advanced services in microbiology, haematology, biochemistry, pathology, and molecular biology. Patients will benefit from having all necessary sample collections and testing conducted within a single, modern, three-storey facility.
This initiative promises substantial savings in both time and money for residents, moving away from reliance on numerous private labs. The lab's comprehensive testing capabilities, supported by a full team of professionals, are anticipated to greatly improve disease surveillance and diagnostic accuracy in the region.
