These nations include Australia, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Georgia, Greece, Kuwait, Madagascar, Mexico, Monaco, Peru, Spain, Taiwan, and Uzbekistan. The company is working to remove the contaminated products from shelves.
This recall by Lactalis mirrors a similar action taken by Nestlé earlier this month. Nestlé also recalled several batches of its infant and follow-on formulas due to concerns over the same cereulide toxin, which was attributed to an ingredient from a leading supplier. Health authorities are advising parents to check product batches and consult healthcare professionals if they have concerns.
