Ayurveda Lab Upgrades with Advanced Metal Analysis
13 Feb
Summary
- Laboratory inaugurated on Friday at Vilachery with advanced equipment.
- New ICP-OES instrument detects and quantifies trace elements.
- Analysis ensures Ayurvedic medicine meets global quality standards.

AVN Ayurveda Formulations Lab inaugurated its upgraded facility at Vilachery on Friday. The laboratory is dedicated to enhancing Ayurvedic medical research and quality control processes.
At the inauguration, Managing Director Ramesh R. Varier highlighted the new Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) instrument. This powerful analytical technique can simultaneously analyze multiple elements, precisely identifying and quantifying trace elements, particularly in liquid samples.
The ICP-OES system excites atoms and ions in Ayurvedic medicine samples to a higher energy state. As they return to stability, they emit specific wavelengths of light, allowing for the determination of elemental composition and concentration. This advancement ensures that AVN's products will be rigorously tested to meet global quality standards and comply with international regulations.
