A vibrant young woman's life was tragically cut short at the age of 25. Sharlie-Jaye Sleney, an aspiring nurse from Gillingham, Kent, passed away on October 2nd. Her journey to becoming a nurse, following in her mother's footsteps, was tragically interrupted by a severe health complication.
Sharlie was initially admitted to the hospital for kidney stones. This condition unfortunately led to a severe case of sepsis, necessitating her admission to intensive care in June. The sepsis caused multiple organ failure, requiring her to be placed on life support.
While Sharlie managed to recover and return home, she continued to battle post-sepsis syndrome, a condition that ultimately contributed to her death. Friends remember her as a radiant and caring individual who possessed a unique ability to uplift those around her.
She was deeply committed to helping others, demonstrated through her work as an NHS community carer and her volunteer efforts for mental health charity Mind. A GoFundMe page has been established to assist with funeral expenses and to honor her memory.
