The Indian Rheumatology Association is set to host an online public awareness program on October 18. This event will provide a platform for individuals to directly ask experts questions concerning rheumatic disorders and arthritis.
Dr. Sapan Pandya, vice-president of the association, stated that the initiative targets both the general public and medical professionals. Its primary goal is to address common misunderstandings and enhance awareness regarding rheumatology and the effective management of conditions like arthritis.
He noted that these diseases are frequently undiagnosed for extended periods. Furthermore, even when symptoms like persistent joint pain are present post-diagnosis, many patients opt for alternative therapies rather than seeking conventional medical treatment.
In a related event, the association recently organized an online quiz competition to commemorate World Arthritis Day. A team from Vadodara achieved victory, emerging as the state winner in this competition.
