Of the hospitalized patients, eight remain on ventilators in critical condition, while three are undergoing dialysis and are reported to be stable. The affected residents are from the Chowdeswaranagar and Swaroopanagar areas.
Clinical findings indicated acute renal failure, strongly suggesting toxic exposure, with milk consumption identified as the probable source. Investigations traced the milk supply to Varalakshmi Milk Dairy, prompting the immediate arrest of its owner, Addala Ganeswara Rao. The dairy's operations have been halted.
Emergency medical services have been deployed to affected neighborhoods. Specialist doctors from Hyderabad have arrived to oversee treatment protocols and standardize patient care.
