Though declared cancer-free in March 2025, Bastian continues medication to prevent recurrence. She detailed how the treatment 'strips you back,' affecting her physically and mentally. She described feeling 'broken down' after chemo and her mastectomy, questioning her identity.

Bastian emphasized that survival mode was her only option during treatment, crediting her husband, children, family, and friends for support. She also discussed potential reconstruction surgery, noting her current indecision.

For recovery, she finds comfort in a bright pink prosthetic, which helps her feel 'normal' and is visually appealing. Bastian views herself as 'still under construction,' healing after a significant health journey.
