25 Feb
Summary
- Wife fights for better treatments after husband's glioblastoma death.
- Alfie Boe and other celebrities support Wear a Hat Day fundraiser.
- Glioblastoma research funding needs greater investment urgently.

A widow is campaigning for better treatments for brain tumors, receiving support from singer Alfie Boe. Anne McEntee's husband, Tom, died in November 2015 from aggressive glioblastoma, two years after his diagnosis. Despite chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgeries, he succumbed to the illness.
McEntee aims to keep her husband's memory alive by advocating for a future where a glioblastoma diagnosis is not a death sentence. She met with Boe and other celebrities like Sarah Beeny and Debbie McGee in London ahead of the fundraising event Wear a Hat Day.
Alfie Boe, whose father died of a brain tumor when Boe was 23, serves as patron for Brain Tumour Research. He emphasized the stagnation in treatment options over the last 30 years and the critical need for increased research funding to improve outcomes for UK patients.
