Serious Allergy Risk: Aldi Recalls Holiday Chocolate Bark
16 Dec
Summary
- Holiday chocolate bark sold at Aldi recalled due to undeclared allergens.
- Mispackaged barks may contain hidden pecans or wheat, posing risks.
- Consumers with allergies are urged to discard affected products immediately.

Aldi has issued a nationwide recall for its Choceur-branded Holiday Chocolate Bark, distributed by Silvestri Sweets Inc., due to the potential presence of undeclared allergens. This voluntary recall was prompted by a packaging error where Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark was inadvertently placed into Cookie Butter Holiday Bark packages, and vice versa. This mistake has created a significant health concern for consumers with specific allergies.
The mislabeling means that the Cookie Butter Holiday Bark may contain undeclared pecans, posing a risk of severe allergic reactions for individuals with pecan sensitivities. Similarly, the Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark might contain undeclared wheat, which could trigger serious health issues for those with wheat allergies. The company cited a temporary breakdown in its production and packaging processes as the cause of this significant error.
