AIIMS Director Race: 65 Doctors Vie for Top Post

Among the external applicants are former AIIMS personnel and leaders from other prominent medical facilities. Internal candidates include heads of various departments within AIIMS Delhi, such as Forensics, Burns and Plastics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, and Community Medicine.
The selection process involves a search and selection committee, which will ultimately choose the new director. The committee's members include the Union Health secretary and other senior officials from scientific and health research fields.
