27 Mar
Summary
- Over 80% distrust AI for health advice.
- Nearly half don't consult professionals after AI use.
- Younger adults use AI more for mental health.

A recent poll reveals that a substantial portion of adults harbor distrust towards artificial intelligence for health guidance. More than 80% of those who have not utilized AI for health advice stated they have little to no trust in it. This sentiment is echoed by those who have engaged with AI for medical queries, with 67% expressing doubts about its physical health advice and 77% for mental health.
Further concerns arise from the follow-up behavior of individuals using AI. Approximately 42% of adults who consulted AI for physical health issues did not consult a doctor afterward. This figure is even higher for mental health, with about 58% not seeking professional help. Younger adults, aged 18-29, are particularly noted for being less likely to follow up with providers for both physical and mental health concerns.
