Summary
- A 98-year-old man performs 40 press-ups daily without fail.
- He also practices Pilates and can hold a 'crow' pose.
- He attributes his longevity and fitness to good genes.

At 98 years old, Bill Kober from Woodbridge, Suffolk, demonstrates that age is merely a number when it comes to maintaining an active lifestyle. He commits to performing at least 40 press-ups every day, split between morning and evening sessions.
Beyond his daily press-ups, Bill also engages in Pilates, recently mastering the challenging 'crow' pose. He emphasizes the importance of staying active to maintain his abilities, stating, "use it or lose it." His past experiences include two years in the Army, work in the building trade, and 28 years in a factory, followed by a decade as a school bus driver.
Bill, who has been married for over 75 years, was born in east London before being evacuated to the Cotswolds during World War Two. He now enjoys a quieter life in Woodbridge, volunteering and crafting marquetry bookmarks and Viking chess boards. He remains optimistic about his fitness goals, aiming to still be doing his press-ups when he reaches 100.
He believes the key to a long life lies in inheriting good genes. While exercise wasn't always a primary focus, his history of manual labor and current active routine contribute to his well-being. The NHS recommends that adults aged 65 and over engage in daily physical activity, including strength, balance, and flexibility exercises at least twice a week.
