9/11 Cancer Cases Surge 1680%!

Over the past decade, cancer certifications linked to the 9/11 attacks have skyrocketed by 1,680%. Statistics reveal a dramatic increase from 3,204 in 2015 to 57,044 this year, primarily due to rare cancer types.

For the first time, cancer cases among survivors who lived or worked near Ground Zero now exceed those of emergency responders. Survivors account for 28,913 cases, a 4,066% rise since 2015, while responders represent 28,131 cases.

The growing number of diagnoses includes uncommon cancers such as thymus and neuroendocrine cancers, alongside a rise in male breast cancer and brain cancer cases. This surge is partly attributed to the advancing age of survivors and responders, most now in their late 50s to early 70s.

Sadly, the grim reality of post-9/11 illnesses continues, with at least 9,425 deaths confirmed, more than tripling the initial 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. Experts emphasize that "9/11 did not end on 9/11," urging continued vigilance and enrollment in health programs for early detection.
