The Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital (TNGMSSH) in Omandurar Estate has reached a significant milestone, completing 500 robotic surgeries since its establishment. The hospital has facilitated a range of complex procedures, including urological, cancer, endocrine, cardiac, and gastrointestinal surgeries. The robotic approach offers benefits such as minimal scarring and reduced hospital stays for patients. A key aspect of this initiative is that these high-value procedures, some costing as much as ₹20 lakh, have been rendered completely free of charge.
In addition to celebrating this surgical success, TNGMSSH is progressing with plans to establish a specialized treatment unit for sportspersons, an initiative valued at ₹7.70 crore. This expansion underscores the hospital's commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality for a diverse range of beneficiaries.
