Michalis Giannakos, the President of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers, said the man can only be saved by a "miracle" as he is in a "very critical condition."
The tragic incident comes just weeks after a young woman in Colombia died from alcohol poisoning after participating in a dangerous drinking challenge at a nightclub. Authorities are now investigating whether anyone encouraged the 22-year-old man to attempt the burger swallowing stunt.
