The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)-run Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust has provided ₹2.2 crore in financial aid for 623 patients at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS). These patients suffer from critical and complex ailments requiring advanced treatments and surgeries.
The selection committee, chaired by SVIMS Director Dr. G. Jagadeesh, identified beneficiaries based on their medical condition and financial eligibility, prioritizing those below the poverty line with ration cards. These treatments and surgeries will be entirely free of cost under the scheme.
The 623 selected patients span 19 medical specialties, with the largest numbers from nephrology, gastroenterology, general surgery, and neurology. The trust aims to ensure that no poor patient is denied life-saving treatment due to financial constraints. This humanitarian effort offers a critical lifeline to families burdened by the costs of critical illnesses.
Dr. Jagadeesh expressed gratitude for the TTD's support and appealed for further donations to extend this life-saving assistance to more needy individuals. The trust seeks contributions from devotees, donors, corporates, and philanthropic organizations.
