Twelve Children Hospitalized After Leaving Pediatric Ward Without Clearance

On November 14, 2025, twelve children admitted to the pediatric ward of Kamala Nehru Area Hospital in Nagarjunasagar, Nalgonda district, India developed fever and related symptoms after leaving the ward without medical clearance. Hospital authorities have since stabilized the children and they are currently recovering.
According to a report submitted to the District Collector, a total of 21 children aged 1 to 11 years were initially admitted to the Area Hospital with complaints of fever and discomfort. They were examined, given antibiotics, and provided supportive care. However, during routine checks later that night, medical staff found that 12 of the admitted children were missing from the ward.
