29 Mar
Summary
- A 10-year-old girl tragically died from an aggressive brain tumor.
- Symptoms initially mistaken for eye strain were a sign of a large tumor.
- The family is raising awareness and funds for brain tumor research.

A family's devastating ordeal began when 10-year-old Myla Lilly Broadey-Meears suffered headaches and dizziness, initially thought to be eye strain from her iPad.
These symptoms, which emerged during a family holiday in August of the previous year, were later diagnosed as an aggressive diffuse midline glioma.
Myla was rushed to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where 60 percent of the 7-10cm tumor was surgically removed. She then underwent intensive radiotherapy.
Tragically, Myla passed away on January 15th, just days after her 10th birthday. Her mother, Chantelle, is now working to keep Myla's legacy alive by raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity and promoting awareness of early tumor symptoms.
Myla's father, Zak Meears, described his daughter as an amazing, funny, and beautiful child. Myla's Twilight Walk is scheduled for March 20th to support The Brain Tumour Charity during Brain Tumour Awareness Month.
